Fourth of July

For the 4th, we went to the parade in Rexburg. Ethan's cousins daughter was in it with her dance class. It was fun seeing her wave to everyone and it looked like she was having a good time, so was her Mom. It was really cool, because of course everyone was throwing out candy, but they also were squriting people with water, and they gave everyone that wanted one, a carton of chocolate milk. Later that nite, we went to Jess's inlaws house and shot off som more fireworks. It was crazy, because the fireworks that people were shooting off in the neighborhood were better than the actual show. Ethan is already saving money for next year, so he can do his own show for us. It was a fun day. Thanks Jess for inviting us.

So life has been so crazy lately. We only have a couple of weeks of school left,are moving to a bigger apartment, and are going home!! That is what we are most excited about. We are going to spend some time in the San Fransico area to see my friend and my sister and the will be in Ventura for a while.

The past couple of weeks have been busy as well. We broke our bed, so went to Ikea in Utah to weeks in a row. It was great to spend time with Charity and her family. I have to say we are so thankful to have her be so welcoming. She always opens her home to us and treats us like royalty. She truly is the #1 Hostess. We were also able to see Ethan's parents and sibilings because they came into town for his Uncle Brian's wedding so that was also a treat.We are wating for Charity and her family to come and stay with us soon. We are going to have a 2 bedroom apartment!!

Idaho Falls

Since the weather has warmed up, we have ventured outside and are enjoying the sun. A couple weeks ago, we went to Idaho Falls and walked around the green belt which has a beautiful view of the temple. It is a couple mile walk around a river. We also saw a bald eagle which was awesome. They also have a farmers market every Saturday with fresh organic food which reminds me of Ventura.

Since the weather has warmed up, we are enjoying the nice weather outside. Recently we went to the Idaho Falls green belt which is a walk way around this lake. It is a really pretty walk with the temple in sight the entire time. We even saw a bald eagel which was awesome. Every Saturday, they have a farmers market there as well which is neat, fresh organic food. It reminds me of Ventura.

Camping and a Birthday

This weekend, our friends Steve and April, as well as Ethan's brother Aaron came up to go camping in celebration of Ethan's birthday. We had an awesome time with good food, nice weather, beautiful scenery, and good company. We will definitely have to do this again soon. Thanks for coming guys.

Loss of a Shinning Star

It is official poor little RANCID has gone where all fish will one day go he is dead, the cause of death is unknown, but possibly food overdose or infections. We will miss RANCID and we hope he enjoyed his short life with us. Someday we will be able to see him again, what a glorious day that will be!

Bianca and I started another semester at BYU-I. Last semester went pretty good for both of us and were excited for the end of this semester to be over but that is usually the case, then we can do some fun stuff like camping and going home to visit family. We have been trying to do more things up here so we recently went to The Idaho Falls museum and saw a Titanic exhibit, it was cool, we went with My cousin Jess and her family which is always fun. We went to a cinco de mayo festival in Idaho Falls I think all the mexicans in Rexburg and Idaho Falls were in attendance which werent very many but we got some tacos which were good. This weekend Bianca and I wanted to get some plants to put on our window sill so we just got some herb plants so we can use them when I cook dinner and they give a little life to our little apartment. But while we were out getting the pots and things for the plants we were at a store that sold Beta fish so I got one his name is rancid as of right now.

Little RANCID

LONG time over due...

So I know it has been a really long time since we have posted a blog. We have settled in to the little town of Rexburg and are really enjoying it. Before we moved here we were a little concerned about the cold weather but it is not as bad as we thought it was going to be. The key to keeping warm is a good jacket (thanks dad and mom for the Patagonia's.)

We have been super busy in school with all of our classes. There are a lot of assignments and homework so that takes up a lot of our time. I have to write at least two papers a week just for one class just to give you an idea.


Besides school we have been having fun. We have been on weekend trips to Utah and to Boise. We have also had friends and family come visit. We have also played in the snow, gone shooting, movies, concerts, and have just had a great time. We miss Ventura but it is really nice to have a change.


We also love that the Shannon's are really close and have to thank them for helping us move in. But we family here as well. Jess(a cousin) and her husband live here in Rexburg, so we hang out with them all the time. They have the cutest children, but besides that Jess and Cam are really cool people. Jess is a great cook and is always feeding us which we enjoy, but it is also nice to have a young couple to hang out with, that we get along with and have the same interest as. We always have fun being with them. There is also Celeste and Kimball, but we have not seen them as much as we would like.


We are excited about spring and summer so that we can go hiking, water skiing, camping, and are looking forward to trip home.

Lust or Must?

I am always seeing things that I want, but do not need, shoes,clothes,make-up,housewares, when I am looking at the Internet or shopping.My problem is not that I buy everything I see, but there are a few items that I see and then I feel that I have to have them, and if I don't get them I will regret it. So how do you decided if it is a lust or a must. For example, there are these shoes that are a little bit on the expensive side, but I feel I need them,so what do I do:

1.) Just buy them and feel guilty for spending so much money

2.)Buy them and not feel guilty because the are going to look so good on.

3.) Save up some extra money and then buy them, but by that time I am probably going to want something else.

All I have to say is that it is hard not being a millionaire. For a side note, I don't want to sound so materialistic, but I am a girl, and every girl has their guilty pleasures, and mine our definitely shoes. Happy Anniversary

Ethan and I have been married for two years now. It doesn't seem like it has been that long. I have to say, I truly lucked out and married an amazing man. I know everyone says that about their husband, and that is the way we should feel about them. So for our actual anniversary, we went out for Ethan's favorite a good steak dinner. And I guess I must been an amazing wife, because I got a beautiful, yet cool gift. Ethan got a Mosin, and for those of you who do not know what that is, you are going to have to ask him yourself.

These are just a few random pics. I have to say again than I am very thankful for my husband and for the lovely gift that he got me!

October Birthdays!!

Colette and Mom both had birthdays in October. For Mom's birthday we went to the Thousand Oaks Mall to do some shopping, and then we went to El Torito for dinner. It was fun to spend time with the family. Colette on the the other hand, we went over to my parents house for dinner and watched Colette open TONS of presents, had cake and ice cream. Then we went to her Princess birthday party a few days later with food, a huge jolly jump with a slide, and lots of little children. I am sure she enjoyed it. It is crazy that she is 4 years old. She is a lot of fun and is really smart. I am excited to watch her grow up!

Palm Springs

I also forgot to mention that on conference weekend, Ethan and I went to visit our friends Cyndi and Craig. We had fun relaxing, eating home cooked meals, watching conference, and also we went for a fun hike at Joshua Tree National Park. It was a lot of fun, but unfortunately, Cyndi, her sister Tara, and I all forgot our cameras, which was such a bummer because we could have taken some really cool pictures. Ethan and I always love going down there to spend time with the two of them and thank them for being such good friends. I still can't believe that all three of us girls forgot out cameras. I am sure we will be down there soon, so we will have to go back for another hike, and I will have to remember my camera next time.

Hearst Castle

This weekend, Ethan and I left Friday night for San Simeon, to go and check out Hearst Castle. We stayed in a hotel Friday night, and then on Saturday, we woke up and went to a beach close by. About 15 minuets from our hotel is a beach that has elephant seals on it. They are pretty ugly animals, with these long noses that look just like an elephants. When we were at the beach, we mostly saw baby elephant seal though. After we went to the beach we went to Hearst Castle. The place is amazing. The architecture,design, and thought that has been put in to this home is so neat to see. I was saying to Ethan, why go to Europe because William Hearst, the owner had such a collection of art, and has designed all the buiding with Spanish, Italian, and Greek designs that you think you are in another country. The castle looks so odd because in the middle of nowhere, there is a castle on a hill. There are also zebras romaing around the hills as well. Yes, there are zebras living in the hills of California. It was alot of fun, and it gave us a few ideas about what we want our future home to look like.

Last weekend we went to Santa Rosa Island which is part of the Channel Islands with my family. You take a boat out of Ventura Harbor, stop at Santa Cruz Island and then head off to Santa Rosa. Once we arrived on the island, we took a hike around the island and then we had lunch on the beach. The island is one of a kind, and we had a lot of fun hiking around and spending time with the family, I would recommend people going, you can even camp there which I would like to do someday. The coolest thing is on our way home, we saw blue whales. They are incredible!! I have never seen them before and they are amazing, and as they swim they leave this blue tint in the water thats why they are called blue whales.

It has been way to long...

I have been such a let down. We started our blog in July, and haven't updated it since then. We have been busy with school, work, church,family,friends, and moving plans. For those of you who do not know, Ethan and I are moving to Rexburg,Idaho to attend BYU-I. I know it is not Provo, but I really liked Idaho better, so my loving husband is always trying to please me. We are really excited about moving and starting a new chapter in our lives. We will miss Ventura, but we will be back!! I am not nervous about moving but I am nervous about cold weather.I am a beach girl, and I complain when it is 50 degrees, so it will be a change. On the positive side, I picked up snowboarding because of Ethan last winter season, so we are excited to snowboard on real snow, and to go every weekend. I am not sure if that will happen, but if Ethan gets his way it will.

Since starting our blog, I never posted pictures from my trip to London. I went this summer with a friend of mine, Darshana. Darshana and I have been friends since middle school. We have always talked about going to London, but it was just talk and we never really acted upon it, because we never had money to go,til this summer. My birthday is in April, and my parents surprised me with this trip. So I was able to go thanks to my parents, and I also have to thank Ethan, because he was so supportive in me going. At first, I really wanted to go, but I also was not sure I wanted to, because it meant being away from him for 2 weeks. He said "go this time, but next time I am going with you!" So we are planning to go to Europe together, hopefully some time soon. Yes, I was able to go on the trip, but Ethan didn't make out to bad either. I think my parents felt bad that I left him behind, they bought him a road bike that he had been wanting, I will post pictures of that later. So here are some pictures from London!! Cool thing is, the next Olympics are going to be held there. I guess I will just have to go back!

Here is a pic of us at PF Changs, in downtown Boise.Craig and Cynthia are our friends who we stay with whenever we go to Boise. We always have a ton of fun with them. At the restaurant, I asked the waitress if she could give us all free desert because we never are together on our birthdays, so she did. I think, she felt bad because technically, Cynthia is only six. Her birthday is February 29th.

This is the Perrine Bridge that crosses the Snake River from Twinfalls. We stopped by on out road trip with the Shannon's. It was really neat, because people were free falling off the bridge. The would walk past us with backpacks on their backs, and the next thing we knew, they were jumping off the bridge.Ethan and Craig served there together for six devastating months... for Craig.
